Ceramic wall to ceiling low combustion wood heater in main living area.
Brick low combustion wood heater in second living area.
Wood stove in main kitchen area. Backed by electric hot plates. We intend to burn this only when the temperature is below zero. This is further backed by a gas stove in the summer kitchen.
As you can see, we intend to live quite humble in the old village cottage. The window, naturally, is double glazed, six paneled with each panel individually opening, quite unique in the village. The window looks onto the main street, just opposite the bus stop, connecting us to either Esztergom or Budapest, a bit too far for the horses.
I have a gas log heater at home and my husband wants us to buy wood heater now. He likes the first wood heater picture because of its simple style and it doesn’t require too much space.
ReplyDeleteIt gets very hot and very economical to burn. Three logs in the morning and three at night lasted 24 hrs. Both heaters kept us very warm at -20c. I had another ceramic, a smaller one you could cook on, but I had no use of it and gave it away. If wood is easy to get in your area it will be a good investment. Cheaper and much warmer than gas.
